I can hardly believe that another year has begun. Time flies (when you're having fun)!
If I didn't get a chance to see you on parent night, please stop in at any time to say hi! My goal this year is to communicate with you on a regular basis. If you are a parent or guardian, please don't forget to connect with me on Remind! Be patient please, I am trying to get all of the information entered into the program! All-school Mass had been moved to Fridays and we all need to wear our Khaki pants and new school polo shirts. If you are having trouble finding khakis I have heard that Penney's, Gordmans, and Old Navy are good places to look. (I found my at Gordmans on the sale rack!) I am in the process of evaluating the spelling assessments and will soon have the students learning the appropriate spelling strategies. It is a very long process and it is my goal to have it completed by next week Monday. The 8th graders have begun work on their first novel. It is called The Giver and is written by Lois Lowery. I considerate it one of the more modern beginnings of Dystopian Novels. (Ask your child what that means!) When we finish they will be completing a project and also watching the movie to compare it to the book. The other classes will be reading short stories and developing their reading skills before we begin a novel together. May God Continue to Bless Each and Everyone of You!
