Hello to Everyone!
Here we are adjusting to our new normal. First and foremost, please know that I am praying for all of you during these trying times. This new normal certainly does not feel normal. As we make our adjustments please know that I will be doing my best to keep our kids up to speed on their learning. Please be looking for communications from School, Mr. Marohl, Miss Kate, and myself. We will be continuing to complete lesson plans and send out work for your students to do. All of our communications will help to make this transition as smooth as possible. May God over watch us all and keep us all safe and healthy. God Bless! Mrs. Wendy Lundt

Welcome to another school year! The summer (as always) really flew by. Mine was filled with babysitting, baseball, and concerts!
You will be receiving a letter from me asking for your information. Please be patient with me and fill it out again as I am resetting some of my communication apps. THANK YOU! I am looking forward to the new school year and working with all of you to achieve your very best! God's Blessings, Mrs. Lundt I can't believe the summer is almost over. I spent most of of summer spoiling my grandkiddos. (My most favorite past time!) I also went to my annual Dave Mathews Band concert and a one Brewer game... Go Crew!
As I look toward this school year I am excited to be teaching middle school Language Arts again. We will be reading novels, short stories, and writing! All of the students will be required to have reading materials with them at all times. I also have new "grown-up" desks in my room. Come and check them out. I am looking forward to seeing you all at Open House on the 24th! God Bless You! Mrs. Lundt Wow is it just me, or did summer just fly by? I will be honest and say that I spent most of my summer with my granddaughters. It is a joy to watch them grow! Kate will be three and Amelia just turned one. New baby Lundt will join our family in September! It's a boy and my son and daughter-in-law are busy preparing for the new arrival. Of course, this grandma can't wait!
I will be teaching 6, 7 and 8th grade Literature, Language Arts, and Spelling this year. I have a few new technical things the students will be trying this year. Whooo's Reading is one of them. This app will give the students a chance to have questions asked them about the book they are reading outside of class time! We will be reading at least 6 novels throughout the year along with many short stories to help us learn all of the aspects of literature. We will also be writing in our journals and completing many assignments to help us become better writers! Yes, this includes an in depth research paper in the spring!!! Be on the look out for the new Remind information to be sent out as soon as I am able to add all of your phone numbers and emails into the system. The is an amazing tool for me as it simplifies communication with everyone. Please feel free to contact me with any questions at any time! As I look forward to the new year, I pray God's Richest Blessings to each and every one of you! Love, Mrs. Lundt A A Very Blessed Easter to All. During this Holy Season may we always remember that Jesus died for each of us. His sacrifice saved the world!
We are now in the LAST quarter of the school year. This year continues to fly by. We are busy working on our research papers and learning how to organize our thoughts. It is an amazing amount of work and rewarding at the same time. The fifth graders are working on how to read non-fiction. It is very different than reading fiction. They are learning how to recognize facts in what they read. On a personal note, I just learned that I am going to be a Grandma again! What a blessing it is in my life! New baby will be here in September! Katherine knows all of her letters, colors and shapes. Amelia is crawling! How fast the time flies. God's Richest Blessings to All! I cannot believe that the first quarter of school is almost over! We have had a wonderful time learning many new things. I am excited to see the procedures the 6th through 8th graders will be presenting on Monday. They are to present something as if they are talking to an alien.
The 6th, 7th and 8th graders will also be presenting their book reports for the First Quarter after November 4th. Each student was to complete a book on their own and do a project for the class. Next week I will complete Benchmarking with the 5th graders. This process is an important part of assessing student learning. The students who are waiting to be assessed will be working with a program called RAZ Kids. This programs allows students to choose books at their own level and interest and then test themselves on their comprehension. They earn points and are able to build a robot! As we begin the month of Thanksgiving let us always remember that All Good Things Come From the Lord! God Bless You All! I can hardly believe that another year has begun. Time flies (when you're having fun)!
If I didn't get a chance to see you on parent night, please stop in at any time to say hi! My goal this year is to communicate with you on a regular basis. If you are a parent or guardian, please don't forget to connect with me on Remind! Be patient please, I am trying to get all of the information entered into the program! All-school Mass had been moved to Fridays and we all need to wear our Khaki pants and new school polo shirts. If you are having trouble finding khakis I have heard that Penney's, Gordmans, and Old Navy are good places to look. (I found my at Gordmans on the sale rack!) I am in the process of evaluating the spelling assessments and will soon have the students learning the appropriate spelling strategies. It is a very long process and it is my goal to have it completed by next week Monday. The 8th graders have begun work on their first novel. It is called The Giver and is written by Lois Lowery. I considerate it one of the more modern beginnings of Dystopian Novels. (Ask your child what that means!) When we finish they will be completing a project and also watching the movie to compare it to the book. The other classes will be reading short stories and developing their reading skills before we begin a novel together. May God Continue to Bless Each and Everyone of You! This summer has been full of so many new things for me. I have taken three classes to help me become a better educator. I am working on connecting with my families through various kinds of technology. Throughout my years of teaching I have grown and changed with the times. This is another part of my changes!
I did many things during the course of the past few months. I spent some time with my daughter, her husband, and my beautiful new granddaughter. I also spent time with Katie, my granddaughter who will be two in September. I also attended my 25th Dave Matthews Band concert with my son and his wife from Michigan. (For those of you who are keeping track... no I have not heard my favorite song. :-( I was able to spend a few weeks with my mother as two of the classes I took were in my hometown. When you come to my room this fall you will notice THREE new chairs in the reading area. (I got rid of the uncomfortable blue chair!) One of them is a Dr. Seuss chair I painted myself. Another new crafting thing I have tried. I pray all of you are having a healthy, happy, relaxing, and faith filled summer! See you in a few weeks. |
